Gas Detection & Caliboration

FAQ

  • Yes, face fit testing is a legal requirement for anyone who wears a tight (or close) fitting mask for work.

  • Distel Disinfectant has been extensively tested in laboratories for its effectiveness against the germs, bacteria and viruses. The product was principally developed for use in disinfecting surgical and medical equipment.

  • All gas detection and gas monitoring devices require calibration and routine servicing. This is normally carried out every 6 months, but may vary by application and equipment type, with some systems requiring more frequent testing & calibration.

  • People come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. It is unlikely that one particular type or size of RPE facepiece will fit everyone. Therefore, manufacturers offer different size and shape facepieces such as masks, visors and hoods.

  • Many masks rely on a good seal against the face so that, when you breathe air in, it is drawn into the filter material where the air is cleaned. If there are any gaps around the edges of the mask, ‘dirty’ air will pass through these gaps and into your lungs.
